2008 Ford F350 gasoline engine truck. Installed a remote start on this truck today at work, when remote started the parking lights would not work, i tested everything and tried it again. When I rs this time the pk lights and the head lights came on but the parking lights did not turn off with the switch(this truck does NOT have auto headlights). I pulled up my shopkey and tested every wire at the switch and the switch functions properly. I unplugged the switch completely and still nothing. Traced the wires back to the SJB and tested the fuses, all were fine. After an hour of frustration and confusion I took a smoke break, while on my break about ten min went by and off goes the lights ,I turned the pk lights on and then the headlights and turned them off and what do you know, they stayed on. I read in the manual this truck has retained accessory power for the windows that stays on for 10 min after the ignition is turned off, im not sure if this has anything to do with it but they both take 10 min to shut off after the ignition is cycled. Also when they shut off if i leave the switch off and turn the ignition on, the lights come on automatically and again this truck does not have auto lights. Any suggestions? I am completely stumped and the customer is going to need his truck.

The truck has built in timer that turns off the lights in approx ten minutes if the key is not turned to run . This feature keeps you from having a dead batt if you leave your lights on. If you did not have a lighting prob before you worked on it then it has to be sumpten you did . check your work closely.

In the manual it says that the timer for the lights turn off in 30 seconds. Right now we have the headlight circuit back to factory and still have the issue.'

couple of questions, did you use a + park lite trigger at sjb or - at switch? best option is to use the + at sjb (purple/white wire, in gray 13 pin plug, pin #6). if useing neg at switch, its more involved than just sending a neg pulse to the wire. also you should break the driver door pin wire with a relay and a "pulse after" from the rs unit to shut down the rap system

I used - at the switch. I wired the relay and interrupted the ground at the headlight switch as well.
