Hey,
I recently bought a Mazda 3 (2013) , it has an aftermarket remote stat installed . sometime while driving or after pressing the lock button on the remote (the stock remote not the aftermarket one ) it will start locking and unlocking repeatedly. is this to do with the remote starter ? can i just unplug it some how ? or is it simply low batteries in the remote FOB? looking for some advice

Could be either one doing it. That's why you'll probably have to remove the aftermarket unit to see if that stops the problem.

Sounds more like an aftermarket problem to me.

Aftermarket = get rid of that! If the car thinks it's running I doubt it would lock you out OE remote system is confuse?
That or old fob remotes if you ever opened one is just a bump of foil metal to make a connection may not bounce back think you are still pushing it?
Hope you have two try the other OE fob have the other too far away.
:-) Old fuss here just within year 1st veh. with fob remote. OMG how stupid! Opens windows with the flipping thing stuffed in my pocket find doors locked or unlocked it's bumping other things in my pocket like other keys there's lots + have to.
2003? How many times has battery been changed? IDK I think some good for close to 10 years if not squished where it's stored using power up?
Other's vehicles unless a complaint I don't live with so now I do will some decade get plain key with just the chip $100 bucks for the blank!
