Help please?! I have a 2004 GMC Envoy with an L6 engine and have been having problems with the tachometer and the entire electrical system lately. It started with just the tachometer. The tachometer would jump much higher than normal under hard acceleration and would not return to the normal idle level (the engine would return to normal idle, but the tach would remain around 2500-3500 RPMs). When accelerating again the tach would go up again from its current level and stay there. It would keep increasing until the tach was registering past the 8000 RPM mark and just stay there. If you started and then turn off the engine several times the tach would return to normal idle levels but then the process would start all over again. Now I have noticed that my interior dash panel, radio, and even head and tail lights are dimming when accelerating and decelerating (escpecially when decelerating). What is wrong here?
