Low beams working intermittently Sign In

We have a 2007 Suzuki XL7. The problem started a while back. I had the high beams on and when I went back to low, they didn't work. I flipped from high to low a few times and they came back on. Now, they rarely come back on when you flip back and forth between high and low. The weird part is that the only way to get the low beams on is to hit the top of the fusebox with your fist. Once I have them on, if I flip back to high and back to low, the lows will not work. Occasionally when I flip back and forth from high to low, the lows will work a few times and then stop. Mostly though, they just stop working if you flip high and back to low.

I have never had one problem with any other light and the high beams have always worked. I have checked the fuses and they are good. I have messed all around the fusebox to try and locate the area that makes them go off and on with no luck. The only thing that seems to work is hitting the top of the fusebox. The bulbs also seem to be fine. I was thinking it is the dimmer switch, but would you be able to hit the top of the fusebox and get the low beams on? Any other ideas?

Appreciate any help...

The fuse block contains relays for both high and low beam lights that are likely your problem. The big problem here though is that these are not serviceable relays. They are built right into the circuit board of the fuse block and the whole board will have to be replaced.
