Ford Focus Estate (1800cc).
T registered(1999)
Driving this morning when the power to the instrument panel failed, no speedo, rev counter, temp gauge or fuel gauge. Rear wiper stopped working. Indicators stopped working. Headlights and rear lights and brake lights still worked. When headlights are on the back light on the instrument panel does work. Hazards work. Then the internal light (set to come on when doors are open) came on as we were driving and the speedo and rev counter needles were flicking but not properly working. Internal light went off for no apparent reason. Internal light came on and went off again later. Front wipers work normally except on intermittent when they work occasionally but not as regular as they would if working normally.
Arrived at work and not had chance to try anything yet.
Any ideas would be gratefully received!

Just start systematically testing power supplies.
Check all your fuses and fusible links first. Check the ignition switch.
