Hi there

I have a Vauxhall Astra Club Estate Y Reg 1600 Automatic. Recently (particularly in winter), when I put the headlights on, most of the internal lights are dimmed badly or go completely off. It's not the dimmer switch as some other lights go completely off, like the gearshift light, heated rear window lights and radio light for example. Obviously this can make it very tricky finding controls in the dark! The speedo etc becomes barely visible. Could it be a battery problem? It's like it has to spread limited power or something... I asked a couple of garages to look when MOTing, but they said they could find nothing wrong - it's sod's law, the lights tend to work ok when they're looking for a fault!

Any ideas appreciated as this has been driving me bonkers!
