I have a 1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager. On my rough road it has begun to flash the interior light and bell (door adjar lite does not come on. On smooth roads stopping fast does same thing. Where is the loose wire? Thanks.Pirate

Re: Interio lights and bell Sign In

It could be anywhere from the rear hatch pin switch to one of the door pin switches, (that’s if this van still has pin switches) to a wire that has rubbed through and a bump puts the wire to ground, turning on the lights. There is a maze of wires to each door.
You may need to go to each door switch, whether it’s a pin switch style (in the crotch of the door, looks like a push button) or one that is incorporated in the latch mechanism and isolate it from the others.
Doing one door at a time and leaving it disconnected, until you find out which is at fault, if all doors are disconnected and the problem is still there, now you’re into a bit of a search as to where the short to ground is in the wiring harness.
Good luck, because if the light were on all the time it would be relatively easy to find the short but having to drive down a bumpy road to have it do its thing is going to be a bit of a challenge.
Dan.

I had one of those and it was the sliding door switch. I just stacked a couple pennies up with glue to push the button a bit more and it stayed fine for years. Hope it's something that simple, - T

Thanks for the help (couldn't find a feedback section). I removed the door panels checked everywhere. Tried pennies. I removed and re-installed all pin switches except side door. This action seems to have re-grounded the system and I only get a "ding" occationally. Thanks for the help. TXDave
