Instrument lights Sign In

My daughter's car, a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo has no instrument cluster lights. I have checked all the fuses, they are OK. All the lights on that switch work except the instrument lights. I'm thinking that there is a bulb out somewhere but I can't find where it might be. Please help!

Re: Instrument lights Sign In

There is a second fuse on the ground side of that circuit for dash lights only. Other than that, you looking at a bad headlamp switch, dash dimmer or dash cluster.

Where would I find this ground side fuse?

In the fuse box with the rest of the fuses.

Re: Instrument lights Sign In

It must be one of those three switches or dimmers since all of the fuses are good. Which would you be most suspicious of?

Re: Instrument lights Sign In

We don't diagnose things with suspicions. We troubleshoot the electric circuit to find out where it's losing power. That's how electrical problems are found.
