Chrysler Cirrus LX- 1995 and Unimpressed

I just purchased a new computer and need to know what to do about the harness.
One wire shorted out and is broke from under the steering wheel to fire wall.
Do I need to replace the wire?; splice it?; or is it for a new wire all the way
to the computer?

You can splice it but you have to use a real good solder job and heat shrink.

Will Soldering it and using a heat shrink cause the computer to short out again?
I just purchased a new PCM and I am not sure and I don't want to ruin another
computer this is the Third computer and I just replaced one last year.

Repairing a wire will not harm your computer if it's the correct wire and not shorted to anything else. The broken wire wouldn't have damaged it in the first place. You likely haven't found the real problem yet.

Best bet it to disconnect the battery and unplug the computer before you do your wiring repair.

Usually after the third computer you start to wonder if there is something else causing your problems.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
