Hi, my gauge was not working after a tank repair.

I saw your advise (2009) and your dynastic steps. Very well done.

The guy as really not with it.

Anyway you had said to ground the feed wire purple and turn on the key.

If the gauge worked it was a ground problem but you didn't think in that case it would be.

So my deal is that the gauge does work when I ground the feed. Well not works but receives voltage and go down to about a 1/4 tank.

I checked the ground bolt and re-grounded it.

However the ground is good as there it is a double wire ground, one to the pump as well as one to the sending unit. The pump is working fine.

When I reconnected everything the gauge just returned to the over-full position Any ideas thanks Kim

When you ground the feed the gauge should shoot straight to max full. If it doesn't do that. you have an issue in the dash or elsewhere in the circuit.

That one probably runs in the opposite direction but it should still go all the way to extreme when grounded.
