HVAC Blower/Control Mystery Sign In

2000 Olds Intrique, 3.5 L

My son had the blower motor go on the hvac system. We replaced the motor, but not the HVAC display does not light up, and there is now way to control where the air is blowing. We checked all the fuses and all seem to be OK. It would seem we knocked a wire off when we put the blower on, but when you pull the fuse in and out to check them, the display does light up, if only briefly. We are able to control the fan speed, but we can't seem to control where the blower sends the air. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you may have a bad control head or connection to it.

Thanks,

The control panel functions worked fine before we replaced the blower motor, now the motor works and not the display function panel. Also, we did confirm that the blower was bad before putting the ne.w one in

You should be able to access the control head with a high end scan tool.

Without the scan tool HT mentioned, about all you could do would be to check the power & ground to the module. If all that is good then it's going to take some special tools.....

If HT isn't to busy maybe he can pull up a wiring diagram and you & you son can see if the module is getting power when it's suppose to.........

Re: HVAC Blower/Control Mystery Sign In

Is it auto temp control or manual?

It has the auto temp system but you can control it manually as well.

Re: HVAC Blower/Control Mystery Sign In

You can test for power on the orange wire and ground on the black wire ay the control head. Don't test or mess with any other wires as you can do a lot of computer damage.

Re: HVAC Blower/Control Mystery Sign In

Just curious. If you unplug the blower control module, does the display come back up?
