Ford Laser 1984 GL 1500cc 250.000km

The parking lights, clock, dashboard illumination, petrol gauge and temp gauge no longer function.
The car was unused for four years.
Have checked the wiring and bypassed it and it all works.
Somehow there appears to be a problem between the light switch and the loom near the lights.
Can anyone point out where it would be best to look?

You've answered your own question - check the continuity of actual wiring and connections that you jumped that made it all work,
