Ford Explorer Glove Box Light stuck on Sign In

2000 Ford Explorer 4WD 160,000 miles

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer. I am not sure what caused it, but my glove box light will now not turn off. I am not very mechanically inclined, but was able to remove the fuse so it would not run my battery dead. I would like to know if anyone knows how to turn this light off or disconnect it so that I can put the fuse back in. I am not sure what else this fuse controls. I do not see a button or sensor that knows when the box is closed.

Thanks for any ideas!

A quick search didn't help me.

There has to be some type of switch to shut off the light when the door is closed that has come out of adjustment or gone bad.

If it's just the fused circuit you are concerned with, you could always just take out the bulb & reinstall the fuse.

I think some Fords use the latch at the switch and you should see wiring going to it. Unless nuts about this item working I'd just take the bulb out and do in all my own cars anyway, hood, trunk - all of them as they are a problem sometimes and you frequently can't tell they are out,
