Fixing a wreck, Electrical? Sign In

So, Im trying to help a friend who's son rear ended someone.
2000 altima front end drivers side. Above the bumper to Airboxand to the O2 sensor towards the center. We lost a few electrical connectors
(Cornering lamp, A/C Tri switch and one of the cooling fans) cut them clear & safe till we find a donor car. Relaced broken Crankshaft position sensor and O2 sensor.

Everything appears to be in order now and all went well until we tried to start it....Turned the key, engine cranks, SVC ENGINE light blinking (not a countable blink and relay ticking erratically!) No spark, Fuses test OK,
scanned it...nothing! could this have anything to do with anti theft system?

Maybe I'm missing something that may be an obvious place to continue our efforts but I've been under that hood and out in the sun too long today and my brain is numb.

Please give any suggestions you may have on what to look into next.

Thank you.

Scan it and had nothing? Does that mean your scanner wouldn't communicate with the PCM?

Sounds like your friend has a mess. Without seeing actually how much damage was done to the electrical harness and connectors, its really difficult to help with troubleshooting something like this from a forum.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Yeah, I figured as much. The possibility of wires being stretched and broken in the harness is beyond my abilty and patience to deal with. I guess he'll have to take it to a pro when he saves up some cash.

Thanks for your input,

Bill
