i have a 1988 ford bronco, the guy who used to own it did a horrible job, i got most of the truck working like new, im stuck at one issue, the gas guage does not work, i replaced it, it still does not work, when i turn the lights on the gauge goes past the full mark, any ideas? im usre there is a bad ground some where, but im trying to do as much as i can before i pull out the gas tank which is filled, so any ideas would hep, thanks

Is this a full size Bronko or a BronkoII, if full size does it have duel tanks?
They’re wired differently and we’ll need to know this before we can tell you what wire goes where.
They’re all fairly simple circuits and we should be able to help you figure this out.
In the mean time maybe you can also tell us what happens to the dash unit when you unplug the fuel tank sending unit and turn the ignition on. Then when you ground out the sending unit wire; back at the tank with the ignition on.
According to my wiring diagram the sending unit’s wire color is the same for both vehicles. So you’re going to be looking for a yellow wire with a white tracer. If the truck has duel tanks, you’ll find this yellow wire at the tank switching valve, under the truck, along the left frame rail.
