Engine Starts but then Cuts out!? After Ignition Change Login - Sign Up

Hey, I followed this great diy http://forums.vwvortex.com/zer...age=1

Having a slight / Major problem :-/ PLEASE HELP!

Right, i was having these problems but my ignition barrel itself was actually worn so i have replaced this following by the letter, this diy.
Put the new one in, hooked all the connectors up, got the cra**ing U Joint Lined up fine, all good.

Put the new key into the ignition on accessory mode 2, and brilliant (old problem solved of not powering stereo etc) , continue to turn the key to start the engine and brilliant it starts first time every time!..

However!, After 2secs of Idling, the whole engine cuts out!! :s ? Power stays on to everything else, but the engine totally stops!?

I Initially thought this may of been the new ignition so i plugged the old one in and exactly the same happened! So now im kinda screwed until someone can find me an answer??

Please!

(O, and its a Golf Mk3 1996 1.6l , roughly 88K miles)
