Emissions problem - evap cannister	Sign In

2001 Lexus RX 300 AWD. Engine size 6/30. Mileage 149K

Failed inspection for sticker. Evap cannister problem: PO440, 441, 446.

I live in Scituate. I need a recommendation where to take it. Worried about expense (recovering from surgery).

Patty - is that Scituate, MA? Doesn't help but don't know of another.

Emission codes. First look for.......... correct gas cap on tight, vacuum hoses to and from canister. Raw fuel in any hoses. Rule out simple stuff first as the would throw codes at you and fail that test. One free re-do if MA within a month but let the code clear before you go back after the fix or it will still be in memory,

I am in Scituate MA. Any recommendations for a mechanic would be appreciated. Do vo tech auto shops do this kind of repair? Pattybake

Don't know a soul near Scituate/Hingham area. Any decent shop should do. I prefer independent shops frequently non franchised but there's good or bad at any like anything.

High chances of a rusted line or split vacuum hose with luck not too costly just find right where,

T (more Marlborough, Hudson area - too far really still)
