My car would at least once a week not start. During these times, I noticed nothing electrical would operate either, locks, radio, dashboard lights. I took it to a repair shop when it stopped running again. They replaced the starter and it still would not start. They then assumed it was electrical so they found a burned out wire behind the cigarette lighter that led to the starter and replaced it. The car then started. Is it reasonable to assume that the repair shop should have focused on the starter first? Or should have electrical issues been the first issue to fix? Its not likely I needed the starter. Thanks for any advice.
