On a Ford Contour 98 when I try tried to turn on the light bemas the engine stoped and now there is no way to even make the dashboard panel turn on; the battery seems to be ok. This problem has ocurred before but misteriously fixed itself after a while; now the vehicle is out of service. What should I do to begin with?

Start with having the battery tested and then all the cable connections.
