Electrical Issue (I Think) 94 Jeep Cherokee Sign In

I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee with 80,000 miles on it. It has a 4.0 L engine. When the engine is cold it starts up fine. But, when the engine is up to temp. it will not turn over. When I turn the key to on the dash lights up but the buzzers do not sound. Turn the key to start and nothing. I have changed the wire connectors on the battery posts and the battery is fine. The jeep runs good while running and idling is fine. Drove to get gas and when finished went to start and nothing. After 15 mins.or so of occasionally trying to start, with key in on position the buzzers started working magically on their own. It started right up and I quickly drove home. A little worried to go road trippin'. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Trying to do myself and not spend alot on it. After all it is 16 yrs. old. Thanks, MIKEY C.

A quick check you can do when it's not starting is give the starter body a rap with a hammer and see it that gets it to crank. If it does then you are looking at a bad starter.

If not then post back & it will be time to break out the volt meter & test light and do some testing..........
