Door won't close - central locking problem Peugeot 405 1993	Sign In

I have a 1993 Peugeot 405 STi (petrol) and the central locking (key control - electric locking wasn't working when I bought the vehicle) is playing up. When I try to lock the car it unlocks instantly and the passenger side door will not close (engage) and whilst I can push it in it does not engage with the latch.

Can someone please help,

If you can't make them work manually you need to take a look inside door(s) that have problem for what is wrong. May just be lube what you can't with the panel on you can't see it,

G'day Tom,
The door will not close at all it seems the latch will not work. When I try to lock the door with the central locking it just automatically unlocks and will not allow the door the engage and therefore it remains open.

If this door (never mind if locked) won't stay shut then the latch jaws have some issue. Some cars and I don't know this one you can trip those jaws and need them open again.

Keep any remotes too far away as that could be an issue and make it work manually first then worry about remotes. If plain too stuck the latches involved may need replacing,
