I have a 2000 Ford Excursion, V10, 120000 miles. The door ajar light will not go off on the console and the running board, dome lamps will not turn off when doors are shut.

One of your door latch switches are sticking. You can liberally spray lubricant into each door latch. Then open each door and close it a few times. When you find the hanging switch, the lights will go out. Be sure to do all the doors, including rear. This is a temporary fix. Eventually you will need to replace the switch.

Where are the latch switches located?

Thank you and happy new year to you.

They are located on the bottom of the latch assemblies inside the door. When the door is opened, you will see where there us sort of a U shaped opening. Spray inside the cracks and little gaps inside the latch. Once you open the door and look where it locks to the body of the car, you will see where I am talking about.
