1991 Toyota Camry 2.0L 131k miles I went to start my car this morning, and it would not start. when i stuck the key in, the dash lights came on, but when i turned the key, everything went dead. no noise, nothing. pulled the key out, and tried again, same issue. i tried a third time, and when i stuck the key in, no dash lights, no indication there was any life in my car. i immediately tried to jump it, (and i have a brand new battery). after a minute of leaving the other car running, i still had no life in my car. absolutely nothing works. I was told today that it might be the voltage regulator? any suggestions?

Well, I can tell you with almost certainty that it is NOT the voltage regulator. The regulator can affect the charging of the battery, but the problem that you describe points to either a faulty battery or a faulty connection. If you have a poor connection, you can 'jump' start 'till you're blue in the face, and it won't work. Take the cables off of the battery and clean the battery posts and the inside of the cables. Have the battery charged, then tested. Good luck. Loren SW Washington
