Car does not start, believe the I C M is at fault Sign In

I have a 1999 Ford Contour with the 2.0 liter D O H C 16 valve engine Last month the car started running irraticly, it had trouble starting and I used heet to get it going. a few days later B-12 is the only way it will start. # weeks ago that failed and I replace fuel filter, camshaft position sensor, upstream O2 sensor and the mass airflow temp sensor. I believe the ignition module is bad but i cannot find it anywhere. The parts store sells one and the manual says there is one but its not where its supoosed to be ,Help

You can't find it because it doesn't have one. Is the check engine light coming on at all?

This car doesn't have control module in the sense you are thinking of one........The PCM controls the timing and other outputs...

I would start off with pulling the codes, make sure the battery is good, plugs are good.

I'm not sure what methods you were using to condemn the parts you replaced but you may want to reconsider your methods or think about it getting diagnosed....

This could be something as simple as one of the cams jumping a tooth...... Before you move on to the computer side of things you really need to make sure the engine mechanical is good. The computer has no way of checking that and assumes that all of that is good when running it's checks on the sensors and circuits...
