CAR BATTERY KEEPS GOING DEAD??!!??

i have a 1988 Pontiac Firebird. It has a NEW Battery and a New Alternator.. but the battery in the car will NOT stay charged. I can drive it for about a week and then its dead again... When I jump start the car it Starts up and runs fine. It will drive until it runs out of gas.. Its just when i turn the car off and Overnight (WONT START).... I tested the alternator GOOD and the battery (GOOD)1000 CRANKING AMPS and the Starter is good as well.. Whats the deal here I just dont know what to do??!!?? any help will be greatly appreciated!

Just for grins, disconnect the negative cable tonight, reattach it in the morning and see if it starts. It sounds as if you may have a drain on the electrical system which is draining the battery overnight. Make sure that you don't have a glove box, hood, or trunk lamp staying on.

You no doubt have a parasitic draw/drain on battery. Pull fuses one by one to find which circuit is the culprit while watching a test light between neg battery post and the disconnected battery cable for it. It will light it anything is on and be OFF when everything is off.
Pulled fuse to circuit that draws juice will turn off the test light,

I found the Problem! There was 2 wires the melted togeather coming off the starter... I rewired it and it worked fine!

hey my boyfriend has a 02 transam with the ls1 totally draged out .. open headers,everything !! but before he got all his mod's done to the car .. and it was stock, his battery used to die all the time !! .. try getting one of the new gel batteries .. when we got the gel batterie the problem stopped !make sure you get the best one , they have different colored tabs .. for how good they are . just because you charged the battery doesnt mean that the batteries capabilities are sutible for your car make , and model.
do you live in cold or humid weather ??if you do the terminals of the battery could be rusty.. go to the store and buy a terminal cleaner !! then see what happens. do what loren said about .. at night resting your battery !! because .. that restarts all the computers in your car !!, have u done any tunning to the car??
