Brake lights and blinkers work, but 1 tail light stays out Sign In

Hello - A while back I noticed that one of the tail light bulbs (there are 2 bulbs in each assembly) on my 2018 Chevy Colorado was out. I bought new lights (7443) and replaced the bulb that was out. The next day I noticed that a different bulb in the other tail light was out, so I replaced it. When I did this the new bulb that I had replaced in the other light went out. I bought a new set of bulbs and replaced all of them, rearranging the bulbs in a configuration where they all worked and this fixed the issue. Two weeks later I had another bulb out, and I tried doing the same thing but with no luck this time. I have checked the fuses and relays, all good. The bulbs and sockets seem fine because the bulbs work with the blinkers and brake lights. Any help would be appreciated because I’m at a loss at this point. Thank you!

Arg, bulbs and such. If one is really out do the other side was a good idea now the quality issue is the issue if bulbs alone. Test bulbs before you install them and the bad one(s) if not obvious.

This is possible they got wet, way too hot or maybe voltage spikes for some reason it's a bit new for bulbs IMO without some other common reason.

IDK you see if the fixtures they are in are whole units or not many/most set up to display one is out on dash display - real special the world can't make a bulb work.

Just my own stuff failure of bulbs alone is nasty out of the box the QC doesn't exist just adds to this frustration,

Tom

That means nothing at all. They are entirely different circuits.

When you repeatedly have bulb issues, that generally points to a problem with the socket even if you can't see it. Most of these lights use a circuit board to distribute the power to various sockets and the contacts can get weak. I would replace the sockets.
