Battery or altenator Sign In

Problem case: 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 Ext. cab SLE 185,xxx Miles
My truck clicks when i start it and i lose all power and then i wiggle the wires and it i get power back and then i try and start it and it clicks and every once in awhile it works and starts.
Ok, that was my very descriptive description of what i spend the majority of mornings fighting with.
It seems to only happen after long distance travels once the truck motor has fully warmed up.
The truck gets really goofy electrical wise, the lights flicker, guages go bananas, says im going 100 MPH when im obviously sitting in the garage.
Every once in awhile i get lucky and starts, but then right after it starts it will soon die, unless i stay on the gas. Once the motor "Warms up" after about a minute of me keeping the RPM's at about 1000 it will be able to idle on its own at about 650 700. In park or neutral. Once i throw it in gear it will die, unless i do "break stand" almost and keep the rpm's high so it dont die.
I havent really tried much besides replacing the battery and wiggling wires around

Is that to say wiggling wires can snap it out of it? Clean those up. You are describing what is common for battery cables and if it cuts power completely things reset. Idle can go funky, stalls and more.

Connections can be better or worse when warm or cold. Check them,

So, how long are you going to wait before finding out specifically what connection you are disturbing?
