Almera Speedo, tache, fuel gauge, odometer not working Sign In

hi,

I just started my car to find the speedo and all other dials plus digital odometer on my dashboard not working. The radio still works, the fuel light comes on as if empty as does the engine warning light.

I have had a look in the fuse box under the bonnet and beneath the steering wheel but none of the fuses seem to correspond with any of the above that are not working.

It's a Nissan Almera Twister (2002)

Thanks very much for your time, any help at all is much appreciated.

We don't have that vehicle here in the states, so you might have a hard time getting information on resolving your problem.

Your best bet is to get a circuit diagram of the instrument cluster to find out what circuits powers and grounds the instrument cluster. Then you can remove the cluster and check for those powers and grounds to the cluster at the electrical connector.

Not sure on this one, but the cluster may be controlled by a processor that receives engine data and other types of data from other computer modules in the vehicle. If the data isn't getting to the cluster, the cluster processor may not operate any of the displays. If the cluster is processor driven, you can probably also use a scan tool to interface the processor to see if there are any trouble codes stored that may aid you in figuring out what is going on. You'll be able to tell how the cluster works by viewing it's electrical schematic.

If you can post the schematics, we may be able to tell you how to go about troubleshooting to find out what is going on.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
