A new Electrical power steering pump

My Vauxhall Vectra 04 Deisel has lost its power steering - the engine management light came on and and im now stuck without any power steering.
I have been told I need a new electrical power steering pump. I have seen so many different kinds of pumps, if I want to buy a second hand pump for my car how can I tell if im buying the correct one? I know that some are descibed as fitting an 02 -06 plate cars, would this mean that it would fit my 04 plate?
I have seen a main Vauxhall dealer who wants to charge me £1000 inc Labour, this to me seems a heck of alot when I see you can buy them online for as little as £80. Im wondering if the pump fitted to my car is an expencive type of pump?
