ABS engages and then light stays on during normal driving

Chevrolet Impala 2001

202000 miles.
After driving in normal dry conditions and I first apply my brakes the ABS seems to engage a couple of times and then the ABS Light comes on and stays on until I shut off the engine. When I start the car again, the ABS light stays off until I apply my brakes the first couple of times and the process starts all over again. Any suggestions out there would be appreciated.

You should be able to get code reading what what it sees a fault area with. Make sure fluid is properly filled and get a reading.
Normal is for them to behave as normal braking action if light is on,
