99 caviler electrical ignition problem Sign In

1999 chevy caviler, 2.2 ohv, it seems to be out of time electronicaly but i checked the timing and the gears, the timing is correct. My question is, is it out of time electronicaly? I have replaced the cam and crank sensors,
ignition module, head gasket, everything seems to be in place, but wont start, it fires thru butterfly on intake. HELP why wont it start

What's the history on this. How did the problem develop and what has been tried already?

overheated, two weeks ago, replaced water pump, thermostat, and heater core. still no heat, stalled out would not start, towed to house, replaced ignition module, head gasket, cam and crank sensors. checked the timing, belt and gears correct - removed plug one and it fires countinusaly not correctly, removed plug two same thing, telling me it is out of time electronicaly? could it be the ecm or is there something else i could check prior to replacing the ecm?

It's not possible to be out of ignition timing and neither is a continuous spark.
Do a compression test and use a spark tester to check the spark at the end of the wire.
Use a noid light to test for injector pulse at the injectors also. let me know what the results are.

all plugs are firing on intake, compressiion, power and exhaust as though the computer is confused-the fact the timing was checked and found to be fine and there is good compression across the board-valves are in right position at top dead center-has us stumped

NO, they are not. They are firing on compression and exhaust which is the way DIS ignition is supposed to work.

The computer is not confused.
Complete the testing i asked you to and post the results.
Include the fuel pressure also.
