Car has been having rough starts lately. It has leaking head gasket, I fixed it with the quick fix block sealant. This repair lasted for a month, then drove car in summer heat, and has been occasionally been boiling over again. Driven yesterday, this morning it only cranks when I try to start it. Is there water in the pistons or spark plugs?

Gonna have to start with the basics & found out what you are missing. Spark or fuel. Pull a wire stick an old plug in it & have someone crank it over, shoot some carb clean down the throttle body & see if the motor fires up. . . Does it sound different than normal now when you crank it over? . . Won't even go into the leak sealer stuff.......

Thanks for the reply. I changed the spark plugs and it cranked right up. One plug looked oily, 2 others smelled of fuel, the 4th looked like it had water on it. Now trying the stop leak for the second time. Car is not worth paying for a head gasket replacement. I'm in Hawaii so its really hot this time of year. Let me know any other suggestions you may have.

You can be sure of a couple things You'll never get trains to fly and there is no such thing as "mechanic in a can", regardless of what they promise you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
