99 1500 Silverado and Dash Lights

I need some assistance I traveled a long way on a washboard road with my 99 Chevy 4X4. I now have and issue where when the ignition is off and I press the brake pedal the warning alarm chimes it is the same alarm as if you leave the lights on or the emergency brake. Once started when I depress the brakes the odometer light dims out as does the radio display showing time and station. I let up and they return to there day light brightness. When the lights are are the applying of the brakes has no affect on the lights. Oh the when the car is started pushing on the brake does not result in the chime going off only when the truck is not started does it chime. Any Ideas it is really weird!!
