98 Pathfinder - Power Windows Don't Work Sign In

I just bought a 98 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 and everything was fine, a week later the power windows and locks just stopped working, ugh! I checked all the fuses and they're all fine. A guy at Advance Auto Parts told me that it's usually the button that lets the driver lock the windows so they can only be used at the driver's control panel. Does this sound right? Is there a way to check this? Is there a way to bypass that switch? Advance wants like $110.00 for this part, is there anyplace I could get the part cheaper than that? What is the actual name of the part I need?

Help!

Cheaper than Advance? You're already getting quoted on the cheapest Chinese made junk available.

There is a window lockout feature on the driver's door switch panel that disables the window controls on the other doors. It doesn't lock out the operation of the door locks though.

Even though you checked the fuses, which the windows and door lock circuits use circuit breakers and not a fuse to protect the circuits, did you check for power and ground coming in and out the driver's control panel. Do you know how to use a test light or mutimeter? If you don't, time to take it to your nearest mechanic. There is no sense in replacing something unless you know that it is faulty after doing some troubleshooting.

And do bear in mind there is reason the parts guys are parts guys and not mechanics. They aren't car experts, they are salesmen who happen to sell items of a mechanical nature.

Thank you for your replys. I finally decided to actually pop the panel off the door and take a look at the wiring and found that the wiring harness had come disconnected from the power window main switch I reconnected everything and it all works fine! I feel kind of silly right now.
