98 Dodge P/U 1500 temp sensor wires missing Sign In

1998 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 3.9L V6 engine 178,000 miles showed code 0117 coolant temp sensor ckt low input.

It's low alright, as in no input. There is no connector AND no loose wires that I can find. I've pushed and pulled bundles trying to find 2 loose wires, but I can find nothing.

The sensor is right behind the top radiator hose and it looks as if the wires should be routed down the passender's side of the engine, but I'm at a complete loss.

Please help with directions and a picture would be nice.

Thanks.

Looks like the wires are routed behind the A/C compressor. Examine the harness in that area.

Thanks for the diagram. I just learned that there was work done on the head(s) of this truck. I'm still at a loss to see what the last guy did with the harness. I'm guessing the wires are hanging down behind the engine against the firewall.

This is a puzzle, but tomorrow I'll be in and UNDER this truck to find the wires.
