As i said, they lock with both door buttons, but they won't unlock electrically.

They won't unlock from both door lock switches? If this has a remote, do they unlock with the remote? Is there any aftermarket equipment installed such as an aftermarket alarm system or aftermarket keyless entry system?

no alarm or anything, however they did...rig the fan with a wire directly to the battery.

Electrical destruction at it's best.
You do carry a fire extinguisher in the car, don't you? ........................... Not that it will be much help.

If fan works it's probably just a relay or connection and hacked just to make it work. Now with that info what else has been hacked up with wiring?

If you choose to leave the fan that way make sure it's got a fuse and wires are out of harm's way but better to plain fix it of course!

That rigged cooling fan probably doesn't have anything to do with your door locks, but you should have that checked out to see why the fan was rigged in the first place.

As for the door locks, is this a coupe or a convertible?

Did you buy this private or a car lot?
Which engine?
Do you have a 12 volt test lamp or multimeter and know how to use them?
