I have 1997 honda accord lx I bought it used from a dealership in December 2004 and at that time the dealership told me that these anti-theft ignition chirp came standard in 96 and 97 models. In order to start the car you must turn the ignition 2 clicks so that the amenities are on and then you wait for 2 chirps then start the car. If you dont go through the sequence then the engine will not turn over. However now it wont turn over with i go through the sequence either. if i try to start it and then wait a few hours it will start on the 3rd try. Does anyone know how to fix this or disable it?

I haven’t heard of this type of system in an Accord, unless it was a dealer installed after market system and not factory? I’ve just read through the principles of operation of the factory-installed system for this model year and there’s nothing mentioned about waiting for these chirps? The factory system has a disarm/valet switch that’s located above the left side kick panel; if yours has one try turning the system off? If this is an after market system you’ll have to try and find the controller; usually under the dash; get the manufactures name from the controller box and try an internet search for a trouble shooting chart? You may also want to have the basic starting system tested to ensure it’s functioning properly. You never know; maybe there’s nothing wrong with whatever security system is in this vehicle? Sorry I know this wasn’t of much help. Dan. Canadian "EH"
