- '97 Jeep Cherokee, dependable car
- approximately 90,000 miles
- problem: For the last 6 weeks my left turn signal, when engaged, flickers too quickly about double the normal speed
- likewise, the left brake light when brake is depressed, does not turn on
- I've tried to replace the rear taillight, but the bulb was not the problem
- I went under the steering column and tried to replace the flasher (not quite sure of the location of the flasher and tried a similar outlet that looked like the replacement) but it did not seem to work.
- I don't know if these are electrical-related problems or what to do next.

Your turn signal problem is the LR bulb not coming on. Could be corroded contacts in the socket, make sure its clean inside. If not, get a test light & check the wires going to the socket when the brk pedal is depressed. After that it's time to break out the wiring diagram & start tracing wires.....
