the alarm is factory ford and the keys are not chipped. I know the key isn't chipped as I had a duplicate key made at wal mart and it worked fine to start the car before I replaced the ignition cylinder. any other ideas?

I don't know anything about Ford alarm systems but I can offer this only.... Some Gm /Cadillac security systems could be set by pushing the power door lock button to lock.. and could be turned off by putting the key in the door lock cylinder and turning it. Maybe this is the same , I don't know..... Just a thought.. Jim
