My Dad and I changed out the motor for a brand new one and it still wouldnt work. So my Dad hooked up a by pass directly to the motor and the window would move up and down. So my Dad thought it might be a faulty switch. I bought a brand new switch and it still doesnt work. The switch is housed in the main 4 window switch that sets in the middle console of my car. All other windows work from this main switch but this one. If so - best to fish thru new high quality wire made to bend and solder splice where it doesn't need to bend - common problem at about the age, T DanD Veteran / Moderator May 15, 2008, 3:48 AM Post #4 of 4 (2863 views) Re: 96 cavalier window problem Sign In Tom’s likely right about a wire being broken but with the master switch being in the console, I’d be looking at the conduit between the body and the right front door. The wires colors you’re going to be looking for are the light-blue and the tan. Dan.
