This is a great forum. Thanks to all who post and reply.

Blower motor had intermiten problems stopping. It would start back again.

I had/have a small water leak condensating underneath the housing. Still attempting to find where its coming in.

After reading the forums I tore the dash apart today ( need to replace a dash bulb anyway ). Sure enough the wire connection was rusted and corroded. Sprayed WD40 on it, I'll let it sit all night and work on the rust. See what it looks like tomorrow. I'll look for another connector and a bulb, there's plenty of slack in the wire to put another connector on.

Thanks again.

Intermittent always makes things tougher to know for sure.

Taking on this water leak first as interior plug connections don't usually rust or corrode so much. Find out if that "water" is real water or anti-freeze. Did you mean it leaks inside if what I think you meant?

That could be either A/C (if working and only after a while) water/condensate which is normal but should be dripping outside to ground. If drain is plugged up for any reason could leak inside.

If heater core was leaking it doesn't dry much or well and windows usually get a sticky fog and odor - can check this with a clean paper towel and try to see if water or antifreeze. If you get a towel wet with it the water would dry off quickly when taken out of vehicle, antifreeze would not.

Could also be a water leak from rain? Either could be a common denominator for electrical connections and maybe the blower motor or connections to it if inside (didn't look yet) or just time and worn more likely by my guess so far.

Many just older electric motors will start up again with a tap on them. Not conclusive but if one starts right up when down a good clue motor is bad.

WD-40 better than nothing on connections for a fix or preventative. A good look and even testing flow of current thru a connections more useful as to next step either new one or work on some types that can be fixed and fine again. Dialectic grease lasts much longer. Highly doubt a bulb is causing anything to do with blower motor just that if that is bad what else suffers similar problems? If new connections needed do splice in properly soldered and shrink wrapped over the fix if needed,

T

Definitely rain getting in. In SE Georgia we get monsoon downpours. Gotta be were the vent let's fresh air in. But its a tiny amount, unless you know to look you'd never notice. At first I used a small prybar to tap the motor, when it didn't work I knew it was current or connection problem.

Its the connector. It was rusty. Needs replacing. No problem taking the glove box out to do it. Easy fix, definitely I'll solder and use shrink tube. For now I'm going to put a light coat of grease on the outside to keep moisture out.

Today is the dash bulbs. I bought both types of bulbs listed just in case. Not sure if I'll have to drop the steering wheel, if so hopefully not all the way just enough to get the cluster out.

Have you pulled the cowl grille off and looked down there to see if it is rotted out or full of leaves?
