95 Sunfire Turn Signal problems.

I have a 95 Pontiac Sunfire with turn signals no longer working.
Last year, while I was driving, I turned on the signal and the lights went on but they didn’t flash on the dashboard and didn’t flash in the back. There were no fuses out. The flasher was changed and it just started flashing erratically. My dad went under the dash and found that when the alarm was installed that they hooked it to the turn signal wired. He removed the alarm and the signals worked again only it wasn’t as fast or as loud as it used to be.
Just last week they went out again. The flasher was changed and that didn’t do a thing.
Anyone know what could be causing this and how it can be fixed.
