94 blazer turn signal assembly

Hello all
I've got a 94 chevy blazer s10 automatic 4x4 with a tilt column. This morning was especially cold (-40) and I believe something in the turn signal assmbly didn't quite like that. It was working fine for a moment but after engaging it for a second time it seems to have broken from whatever center point there was. To carify that the "stick" for all the accessories usually remained firmly between both the top/bottom (or left/right signals) engaging points, it now can travel to both extremes without any such "click" engagement.
The high beams work as wel las all other accessories, I haven't as yet tested the hazards but am fairly certain they will engage. I have attempted to remove the steering wheel but lacked all the tools needed to get a better look at the switch assembly, and am pretty much at wits end. I guess my question is does this sound like a full switch replacement is needed? Or is there something that I might be able to "realign"?

The turn signal lever, itself, can be replaced if that is what broke. Typically, they will break where the stem goes into the turn signal switch. You'll have to access that part of the switch to see if you can remove the broken piece or have to replace the switch. The older GMs used a phillips head screw to attach the lever to the switch, but I think yours is newer than that. I'll try and do some research on that and get back to you.

Sorry, I should have stated that the lever does just pull out. It has what I belive to be a quick disconnect for the power to the accessories witch is accessed from a small cover next to the tilt lever.

From what I could find, looks like the lever pushes into the turn signal switch, itself. If the end of the lever is okay, I'm afraid that you'll have to replace the turn signal switch, which requires removal of the steering wheel and locking mechanism underneath. There are a couple of 'special' tools required to do this. Let us know if you have to do it, and we can guide you through it, if you desire.
