One solid click? A faint click? Do lights or other elctrical things completely shut off or dim badly when this occurs? You would have to put on a reading light and watch it as interior lights might go out during start mode. Read and replied to your PM. This now seems like a starter problem, connection to it problem, or a chance of an intermittent crank sensor problem making starter fully fight with engine?? Ideas guys???? If this was engaged your starter would not click, it would just do nothing. No sound, nothing. I would get a the battery tested because you said the starter clicks, which could indicate lack of power to crank, this could also be your problem for alarm.
