'94 Sentra Cimputer question..please help

OK, I don't know much about cars at all. My '94 Nissan Sentra has recently broken down. The mechanic I gave it to said that the computer was fried. I have given the man $1,400 and well over a month to fix it. It seems like everday he has a reason it isn't ready yet. From he can't get it to program, to he might have been sent the wrong piece. So my question is, can the computers really be be so much of a hassle that it takes this long to fix, or am I being bullSh!ted?

just from your description...you are being dunked into the outhouse. computers rarely "fry" and when they do it is a matter of an hour to replace them especially on your sentra. i don't know any of the symptoms so i can't say what is wrong. I do know that you cannot "program" the computer on this vehicle. it is not programable. if you can give a few specifics - like what eactly happened/sounded like/ would or would not do when it broke then perhaps i can be of some help. rick
