93 f150 altenator

i'm chasing down a power draw and need to take out the alt for test.

i need to find a diagram to help me take out the altenator/how many bolts,wires to disconnect.

after that what steps do i need to follow to stop battery from draining.

That has to be the easies alternator to remove known! Two bolts and release tension from the belt - tilt, unplug wire plug and pretty much it's out.

Problems with many was the plug. Before you even start just unplug it and see it it's burnt. The plug can cause the whole problem. You can get just the plug and some are made to just cut wires, match up and have the solder right in the new connector. Common Ford problem.

Battery drain. If it's gone dead too many times it can kill a good battery. Worse when finally started up the alternator works too hard and gets too hot and that will kill an alternator.

Just look at it - you don't need any diagrams,

I don't know why you would remove an alternator just to find out if it has a draw.

Right - no need. Just unplug it and see if the plug is messed up. I have had the plug when burned up take out the alternator and cause an instant drain and self destruct but you can see that with it still in place,
