i have a 92 ford escort LX wagon. it was stolen about a year ago. it was recovered, but, with some serious problems. the back window was broken. and the (+) clamp on the battery was held on by a huge pair of vise grips (wrapped in a rubber floormat from inside the car.), so i replaced the battery clamps, and it ran for a few days. then one day it died while i was driving. i called a buddy to bring out some jumpers. it did not start for awhile, but when we got it going it made it a few miles back to my house. that night i charged the battery. the next night i hooked up the battery and it started right up. not even 10 minutes later the lights started getting very bright in short bursts. the cars guage cluster started to dim and it died. i charged the battery again. and i started the car, disconnected the (+) connection on the battery. it ran still. alternator must be ok. i cant figure it out. the car is sitting in my back yard. please help!
