Hello all, let me explain what my problem is. A few years ago my engine was overheating and I took it in, I blew a head gasket and had it replaced. the reason for said head gasket going was the fan had stopped working (don't remember why) which overheated the engine, which blew the gasket. Now I'm having a similar problem, about two months ago my coolant reservoir cracked and all coolant ran out of the car. Hoping to replace that myself soon (any advice on how to do that also is greatly appreciated) The last time this happened (engine overheating) I was a dumb kid in Highschool and just ignored it, which is what blew the gasket. Now it gets near the red, and I stop, I'm very careful with it, also, the faster I go, the more the engine actually cools down. So, I think that fan went again. My REAL question is: How would I go about fixing that fan? what should I look for? is it electrical, mechanical, etc. and how much would I be charged to bring it in and have it fixed by one of you guys. Also, while I'm here, my left blinker hasn't worked in years, everytime the bulb is changed, it blows after a day, any solution to that? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Does your fan come on when the A/C is turned on?

I haven't had AC for years, but it does blow air, the fan I'm talking about is the one right behind the radiator which points at the engine block, just to clarify, and since it does blow air and the fan I'm talking about still doesn't come on are we talking about two different fans? btw thanks for the quick response :D

No, we're talking about the right fan. It's programmed to run all the time if the A/C is on but since your A/C doesn't work, we can't test it that way.
Try momentarily unplugging the coolant temp sensor. That will put the check engine light on but it will put it in default mode and trigger the fan to run. Did the fan come on then?

yes it did, the fan has turned on and now I'm worried that the fan has been running the whole time but not doing anything... I'm going to patch the hole in my coolant reservoir and try and get some new coolant in the engine, will post back if this helps at all...

ok, I fixed the hole in the reservoir, and filled it with coolant, I then filled the radiator (which was 50% full) with water. took it for a test run and its fine, stays at about 25% does this mean I have a hole in my radiator? also, since i'm still in the electronics forum, can anyone explain to me the fuses and why my left blinker is still not working? Thanks!
