Sign In 1991 Nissan Pathfinder 2WD 3.0 L Over 130,000 I think I noticed when my father was driving the car that the left side brake light wasn't as bright as the right side brake light, when the brake pedal was pressed. So we went and got a new light bulb. Still the same problem. Then when you turn on the lights, both the light's are dim, and when you press the brake the left side brake light goes completely out. We have gotten a new bulb---and replaced the brake light switch. Sign In Just as you would check a POSITIVE wire to see it it had power you use one of these with the clip to power and it will light when touching ground as proof that it's ground. Any device relies on power and ground to do anything.
