Sign In last year was having all kinds of trouble ,,, ended up being the computer ,, replaced with new one ,, ever since interior dome lights will not work not a fuse already checked... and also since computer replacement everytime starting truck radio and clock resets as if battery has been unplugged but has not been... how do i figure out which wire is loose or shorted out and will this keep truck from passing smog test ... any info please thanks in advance jamie Hammer Time Ultimate Carjunky / Moderator Feb 12, 2013, 4:56 PM Post #2 of 4 (1445 views) Re: 89 chevy suburban- possibly loose ground.. Sign In Check all your fuses with a test light again. Sign In Also make sure that your battery connections are clean and tight. If you have a poor connection, the starter could drop the voltage enough to reset everything during cranking. Sign In Wild maybe but had the problem once like and was the rubber block with all the wiring thru firewall with a zillion connections there covered in white grease. When the load of starting it lost contact enough for other items inside. That was an '89 GM van by chance and just a slight twist on the male spades of the connections made all contacts work properly again. As said a wild maybe??
